MBA, MCA, PG Diploma, All UG and PG degree, Diploma and Certificate Courses offered by the Directorate of Distance Education, Madurai Kamaraj University are approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
All distance education courses of Madurai Kamaraj University are recognized as equivalent to full-time courses.
No Age bar to study in Distance Education.
The University Grants Commission allows a full-time degree student to study another course concurrently through distance education.

Those who work in office can pursue professional courses like MBA, MCA through this mode of study.
Teachers who have completed “Diploma in Teacher Education” and have two years of school experience can pursue B.Ed.
Admissions, provision of textbooks, seminar, conducting special classes, examination guidance, issue of model question papers, conducting practical examinations are all done through the Learner Support Centre run by Ultra Arts and Science College, Madurai.
